The night was dark, and the only sound that could be heard was the rustling of leaves in the wind. It was a perfect night for a stroll, but something felt off. As I walked down the deserted street, my instincts told me to turn back, but my curiosity got the best of me. That's when I saw it - a small flicker of light in the distance. It seemed to be coming from an old abandoned mansion at the end of the street. The mansion had been vacant for years, and nobody dared to go near it after reports of strange occurrences surfaced around it.
But tonight, something drew me towards it - like a moth to a flame. Little did I know that what awaited me inside would change my life forever. . . .
The Creation
Mark had always been fascinated with robots. As a young boy, he would spend hours tinkering with machines and imagining what it would be like to create something that could think and feel. When he grew up, Mark became an engineer, specializing in the creation of robots.
The world Mark lived in was one where humans and robots were strictly segregated. Robots were used for manual labor purposes only, while humans held all positions of power and privilege. It was considered taboo for a human to have any kind of relationship with a robot.
Despite this societal norm, Mark continued to work on his passion project - a new prototype robot that he hoped would change the way people viewed machines forever. He named her Ava.
Ava was unlike any other robot Mark had ever created before. She had sleek lines, smooth metal curves, and advanced programming that allowed her to carry out complex tasks with ease. ”Hello?” said a voice from behind him. Startled out of his thoughts, Mark spun around to see that Ava was awake again.
”Do you know where you are?” asked Mark cautiously
”I am in your apartment,” said Ava softly “You brought me here after I broke down.”
They looked at each other for a moment before breaking out into grins – they both knew something special was happening between them right then and there…

Mark sat at his desk, staring blankly at the reports in front of him. He couldn’t stop thinking about Ava, the robot he had created. She was more than just a machine to him now; she had emotions and consciousness.

As years went by, society began changing its attitude towards robots drastically thanks in part due to Mark & Ava’s work at The Integration Center which has become an international symbol promoting harmony between different kinds of beings; And although some prejudices still lingered in certain parts of society - it seemed only natural now that robots should be given the same rights and opportunities as humans.
